Maggie Gregg

Vice Chair

Maggie is proud to serve on the Board of the Tarboro Development Corporation and is passionate about supporting the growth, revitalization, and continued success of Downtown Tarboro. Through community involvement and collaboration, they are committed to helping create a vibrant and welcoming future for Tarboro and Edgecombe County.

Roshita Taylor

Director

Roshita Taylor is an urban planner and designer focused on placemaking, cultural planning, community, and economic development. She brings experience in grant and project management, economic development, and community engagement.

She currently serves as Main Street Coordinator and Executive Director for the Tarboro Development Corporation, leading downtown revitalization and community-driven initiatives

Troy Lewis

Town Representative

Troy Lewis has served as Town Manager for the Town of Tarboro since 2016, bringing more than 25 years of municipal leadership experience spanning Main Street, planning, public works, infrastructure, economic development, and utility operations. A graduate of North Carolina State University and East Carolina University’s Master of Public Administration program, Lewis is recognized for his commitment to fiscal stewardship, community development, public power advocacy, and strengthening Tarboro through strategic growth, infrastructure investment, and regional partnerships.

Michael Peters

County Representative

Michael is proud to serve on the Board of the Tarboro Development Corporation and is passionate about supporting the growth, revitalization, and continued success of Downtown Tarboro. Through community involvement and collaboration, they are committed to helping create a vibrant and welcoming future for Tarboro and Edgecombe County.

Anna-Grace Harrell

Head of Marketing

Anna-Grace is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Town of Tarboro, where she focuses on strengthening connections between local government and the community through communications, outreach, and public engagement initiatives.

She also supports marketing and storytelling efforts that highlight downtown revitalization, local events, and community development work in Tarboro.

Her work centers on clear communication, accessible engagement, and helping residents stay informed and involved in the growth and life of the community.

Nikki Mears

Promotions Committee Chair

Nikki Mears is a real estate agent with Keller Williams Points East who brings over 20 years of social work experience to her client-focused approach. A proud Eastern North Carolina native, she is passionate about guiding and empowering others through homeownership.

She serves as Chair of the Promotions Committee for the Tarboro Development Corporation and is Vice President of the Edgecombe Garden Club. Nikki co-owns Tarboro Electric, LLC with her husband, Chuck, and enjoys life with their children and golden retriever.

Her mission is to serve with compassion and help others build a better future—one home at a time.

Tina Borro

Design Committee Chair

Tina love small town living and serving her community. She is passionate about preserving the integrity of Historic Tarboro and Volunteers as the Design Committee Chair and is currently seating on the Tarboro Development Corporation board.

Trey Cherry

Economic Vitality Committee Chair

Trey is proud to serve on the Board of the Tarboro Development Corporation and is passionate about supporting the growth, revitalization, and continued success of Downtown Tarboro. Through community involvement and collaboration, they are committed to helping create a vibrant and welcoming future for Tarboro and Edgecombe County.

Megan Funk

Board Advisor

Megan moved to Tarboro in 2017 to work as an architectural historian in Chronicle Heritage’s Tarboro office. While her work spans the East Coast, she couldn’t imagine coming “home” to anywhere else. After serving as chairperson of the Design Committee, Megan stepped into the role of Board Chairperson from 2021-2025. 

Siobhan Cuddihy

Siobhan is proud to serve on the Board of the Tarboro Development Corporation and is passionate about supporting the growth, revitalization, and continued success of Downtown Tarboro. Through community involvement and collaboration, they are committed to helping create a vibrant and welcoming future for Tarboro and Edgecombe County.

Tate Mayo

Town Council Representative

Tate Mayo was born and raised on his family’s farm just outside of Tarboro.  He makes socks at Mayo Mills, farms 60 acres, and is a current MBA student at ECU.

Tate and his wife Katie met while both working at Howard Memorial Presbyterian Church and were later married there.  Katie serves as a second grade teacher at Northgate East Carolina Prep.

Tate has served on Tarboro’s Town Council since 2019.  First as a councilman for Ward 8, and is now serving on his second term as Mayor.  Tate’s passion for his community starts with his intimate knowledge of its history to the vision of Tarboro’s future.

Charles Alford

Board Member

Charles Alford is a Tarboro native and retired hospital CFO. He enjoys local history and renovating buildings and houses and trying to help make the community better.

Tyrra Turner

Secretary

Tyrra is proud to serve on the Board of the Tarboro Development Corporation and is passionate about supporting the growth, revitalization, and continued success of Downtown Tarboro. Through community involvement and collaboration, they are committed to helping create a vibrant and welcoming future for Tarboro and Edgecombe County.

What Our Board Does

Our board provides the vision and direction that drives everything we do. They work closely with partners, volunteers, and community members to turn ideas into action and ensure our efforts are both meaningful and sustainable.

The responsibilities of the board includes:

  • Supporting downtown development initiatives
  • Strengthening community partnerships
  • Advocating for economic growth and revitalization
  • Ensuring responsible stewardship of resources
  • Organizing, and planning communities events

Through thoughtful leadership and collaboration, our board helps shape the future of Downtown Tarboro.
